Where Text-Em-All and SlickText differ

Text-Em-All credits never expire, and there is no monthly fee on the Credits plan. Organizations with seasonal or unpredictable sending only pay in the months they actually send.

SlickText sells monthly credit buckets. Unused credits roll over, up to a year on annual plans, but the subscription bills every month, whether a campaign goes out or not.

Text and voice, or text only

Text-Em-All includes voice broadcasts, text-to-speech, and combo broadcasts that automatically call numbers that can't receive a text, a form of automated calling that reaches landlines and non-texters.

SlickText does not offer voice broadcasting or automated calling. It is a text-only platform for SMS and MMS.

What you pay beyond the sticker price

Text-Em-All has no per-user fee, no per-number fee, and no carrier surcharge pass-through.

SlickText includes unlimited users and one sending number, then bills carrier fees separately as a pass-through. Extra phone numbers and dedicated short codes are priced separately.

How pricing compares

Both platforms list a starting price, but the way the bill is built differs. Text-Em-All bills for what you send. SlickText bills a monthly subscription sized to a credit bucket, with carrier fees on top.

Text-Em-All pricing

Credits start at 9 cents and drop with volume, down to about 5 cents per credit. Monthly plans start at $19. Unlimited users, free additional numbers, carrier surcharges are included, and credits never expire.

SlickText pricing

SlickText prices in monthly credit buckets. Entry is $29 per month for 500 credits on annual billing, scaling to about $939 per month for 50,000 credits, with tiers at 1,000, 2,000, 3,500, 5,000, 10,000, and 25,000 credits in between, plus custom Enterprise pricing.

One credit sends one 160-character SMS segment, and MMS uses 3 credits. Annual billing includes two months free. Carrier fees are billed separately on top.

 

A worked example

Let's say a school keeps about 800 parents and staff reachable for closings, early dismissals, and weather emergencies. It sends often during the school year, especially in a rough winter week, and almost nothing over summer break. It has to be ready to reach everyone the moment something happens, every month of the year.

Text-Em-All

A year of sending works out to about 12,000 texts at 9 cents each, or roughly $1,080, and all of it lands in the active months. Summer costs $0, the credits never expire, and there is no plan to manage. When a storm hits, the school sends to all 800 by text, and by voice to the families who don't see a text.

The result is about $1,080 for the year, paid only when messages actually go out.

SlickText

No plan is sized for occasional bursts. To stay ready for a heavy winter week of around 4,000 texts in one month, the school sits on the 5,000-credit plan at about $169 a month, roughly $2,028 across the year, even though summer sends nothing. Drop to a smaller plan to save, and a bad-weather week can blow past that month's credits right when it matters most. Either way, SlickText can't place a voice call to reach the families who miss the text.

Two months of quiet cost the same as two months of storms. The plan is sized to the worst week, then billed all twelve.

This is the real difference for a sender whose volume is lumpy and seasonal. SlickText sizes your bill to the capacity you have to keep on hand. Text-Em-All sizes it to what you actually send, and keeps you ready by text and voice without a plan to manage.
