Text-Em-All employees recently used their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to help with events hosted by the North Texas Food Bank and Frisco Family Services. Text-Em-All is committed to giving back to the community and offers a range of benefits to its employees, including 1-week of VTO, charitable contribution matching, and quarterly donations. Since launching the quarterly contributions program in 2020, Text-Em-All has donated more than $600,000 to the community.
After careful consideration, we made the decision to remove category titles from our program that described specific groups we were helping, such as Diversity, Seniors, Food Insecurity, and Local. In doing so, we realized that our ultimate goal is to support organizations that serve all communities and their causes. Through extensive research as a company, we have full faith that the organizations we select to support will make a positive impact for a wide array of communities.
Text-Em-All's Employee Charitable Benefits
- $1,000 Quarterly Charitable Contribution
Text-Em-All provides each full-time employee, including interns, with $1,000 each quarter to allocate across five charitable organizations, including the North Texas Food Bank and Frisco Family Services. The other organizations include The Senior Source, Genesis Women's Shelter, and Big Thought. Occasional adjustments are made to support other global causes like the war in Ukraine, or earthquakes in Turkey. A group of employees make up the Quarterly Contributions team and meet regularly to review selected charities, organize volunteer events, and confirm quarterly allocations for each employee. The company then distributes the donation to each charity. - Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
In addition to flexible schedules, a hybrid office/remote schedule, paid holidays, and generous time off (employees are encouraged to take 3-5 weeks per year); employees also receive 1-week of VTO. - Charitable Donation Matching
The company offers a 100% match for employee charitable contributions to 501c3 organizations.
These benefits not only support local organizations but also foster a culture of compassion and community engagement among employees.
North Texas Food Bank
The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is dedicated to providing access to nutritious meals for those in need. In the fiscal year 2022, NTFB provided millions of meals to kids, seniors, and families in need and distributed millions of pounds of fresh produce1. Texas has the second-highest food insecurity rate in the U.S., with an anticipated increase of 5.2% compared to 20182. NTFB has doubled its physical food distribution since the pre-COVID-19 period, moving 9 million pounds of food in each month of April and May 20203.
Frisco Family Services
Frisco Family Services has been assisting neighbors in crisis for over 28 years. In the 2021-2022 period, the organization assisted more than 4,100 individuals in the local community and provided almost 730,000 meals through Frisco Family Services Market4. They have also provided more than $1.9 million in annual program support5.
The Impact of VTO
Volunteer Time Off allows employees to take paid time off during the workday to contribute to a cause they believe in6. Only 26% of employers allow employees to take paid time off to volunteer, making it an attractive benefit for potential recruits7. By offering VTO, Text-Em-All demonstrates its dedication to investing in the local community and supporting its employees' passions.
In summary, Text-Em-All employees have been actively using their VTO to support the community. The company's commitment to giving back to the community is evident through its employee benefits, which include VTO, charitable contribution matching, and quarterly donations. These benefits not only help local organizations but also foster a culture of compassion and community engagement among employees.
