Best mass texting services, compared on what you send

A mass texting service sends one message to a whole list of people at once, by text or by a recorded phone call. We compared nine of them on what each is built for, what it costs, and who answers when something goes wrong.

9 platforms compared
7 things that separate them
2026 every price taken from the vendor's own page

The short answer

What is the best text messaging service for business?

The best text messaging service for business depends on what you send. Text-Em-All is the messaging platform for organizations that need one place for staff alerts, reminders, closures and opt-in promotions, by text or by a recorded call for the people a text won't reach. SimpleTexting, EZ Texting, SlickText and Textedly are built for marketing. 16,000+ organizations send with Text-Em-All.

Red Oak Sanitation moved to Text-Em-All from a provider that billed them for inbound messages and showed them nothing about what happened to a send. They doubled their customer response rate, and they can now see the delivery status they had no view of before.

The nine compared

What each platform is built for, and what it costs

These five things actually differ between them. Deliverability and delivery reporting matter too, but no vendor publishes either, so each platform's own section takes those.

Service Built For Voice Broadcast Pricing Basis Human Support
Text-Em-All Staff and members, US and Canada Yes, on the same credits Credits from 9¢, monthly from $19 Weekdays 8 to 5 Central, on call after
SimpleTexting SMS marketing campaigns Not in published plans From $29 monthly; seats $20 each Phone and chat, seven days
EZ Texting Text marketing for growing businesses Not in published plans From $20 monthly, billed annually Onboarding specialist on higher plans
Textedly SMS marketing at any volume Not in published plans From $29 monthly, monthly or annual Included on every plan
SlickText SMS marketing, retail and promotions Not in published plans From $29 monthly, monthly or yearly Phone, chat, email, success manager
DialMyCalls Notification by call, text, email Yes, voice broadcasting Credits, contacts, or one-time purchase Phone and text, seven days
Twilio Developers building messaging into apps Through the API, not broadcast $0.0083 per outbound SMS segment Web free, 24/7 on paid plans
Trumpia Automated texting and marketing Not in published plans Not published Not specified on their site
Podium Local businesses converting leads Not in published plans $399 or $599 monthly, custom above Phone, chat, email, success manager

Competitor details taken from each vendor's own pricing and about pages in September 2026. Prices move; check the vendor's page before you buy. "Not in published plans" means the vendor's own published plans don't list voice broadcasting, and nothing more than that.

Texts and recorded calls

Text-Em-All

Best for organizations reaching staff, members or residents, when the message has to get through.

16,000+ organizations send with Text-Em-All
4.7 on Trustpilot, from 1,191 reviews
2005 founded, and private ever since

Key features

  • Text and recorded voice calls from one account, on the same credits
  • A delivery result for every person, with seven named outcomes and a reason on a failure
  • Two-way messaging into a shared inbox the whole account can see
  • Carrier registration covered and guided
  • Compliance handled inside the send
  • Contact management, templates and scheduling

Pricing

Pricing runs on credits from 9¢ each, or on a monthly plan from $19. Credits suit an unpredictable list; a monthly plan suits the same people month after month. Current tiers are on the pricing page.

Who it's for

Organizations of roughly 50 to 5,000 people with an audience they already have a relationship with: churches, school districts, staffing firms, healthcare teams, property managers, local government.

What happens at 7am

Regular support runs Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 Central, by phone, chat and email. Outside those hours somebody is on call, every night and every weekend.

Reach them by calling the support line or emailing emergency@text-em-all.com. An after-hours call may go to voicemail and you get a call back, so it isn't the same as a person picking up on the second ring. That route is for a message that has to go out: a broken send, a closure, weather. A question that can wait for Monday should wait for Monday.

Sending itself doesn't wait for us either. A broadcast you schedule for 5am goes at 5am.

Limitations

Text-Em-All sends in the United States and Canada only. It isn't built for developers who want an API to build on, and not built for high-volume ecommerce sending to purchased lists, which we turn down. If you want a drip-campaign builder with A/B testing, a marketing platform will serve you better.

Marketing automation

SimpleTexting

Best for marketing teams that want a strong automation builder.

Key features

  • Automations and drip campaigns
  • A/B testing
  • Zapier, Mailchimp and API integrations
  • SMS surveys and polls
  • MMS messaging
  • Rollover credits

Pricing

SimpleTexting starts at $29 a month for 500 credits, plus $10 for a local number, with extra credits at 5.5¢. Three seats come with the plan, and each one after that costs $20 a month. Read from their pricing page in September 2026.

Who it's for

Marketing teams that need automation and integrations more than they need reach.

Limitations

Their published plans list no voice broadcast, and per-seat pricing above three users adds up on a bigger team. Part of Sinch since 2021, so the roadmap belongs to a listed parent company.

If you're on SimpleTexting

What are the best alternatives to SimpleTexting?

The main alternatives to SimpleTexting are Text-Em-All, EZ Texting, Textedly, SlickText and DialMyCalls. Start with what you send, and who sends it. SimpleTexting includes three user seats and charges $20 a month for each one after that. Text-Em-All carries texts and recorded calls on one account with no per-seat fee.

Source: SimpleTexting's own pricing page, read September 2026.

SimpleTexting does campaigns well: a polished builder, drip automation, support seven days a week. The gap is reach. Shift changes, closures, reminders and opt-in promotions all go out from one Text-Em-All account, and the same credits send a recorded call to the people a text won't reach. Among the major mass texting platforms, only Text-Em-All and DialMyCalls offer automated calling.

Text marketing

EZ Texting

Best for small businesses running marketing-driven campaigns.

Key features

  • Drip campaigns and scheduled messages
  • Text-enabled landline
  • Keyword and QR-code opt-in tools
  • Contact management and segmentation
  • RCS with a verified sender profile
  • Team inbox and open API

Pricing

EZ Texting runs from $20 a month up to $3,000 for enterprise, with the advertised prices billed annually and one user included below the top tier. Overage credits run from 4¢ down to 1¢. Read from their pricing page in September 2026.

Who it's for

Small and mid-size businesses that focus on campaigns and customer acquisition.

Limitations

The headline prices are annual commitments. Additional users cost extra below the enterprise tier, so a team of four pays more than the sticker.

If you're on EZ Texting

What are the best alternatives to EZ Texting?

The main alternatives to EZ Texting are Text-Em-All, SimpleTexting, Textedly, SlickText and DialMyCalls. Look at billing and range. EZ Texting's advertised plans run from $20 to $3,000 a month, billed annually, and include one user. Text-Em-All bills monthly or by credit, and the same credits send texts and recorded calls.

Source: EZ Texting's own pricing page, read September 2026.

EZ Texting is built to grow a customer list, and it has RCS today. The gap is whose list it is. A promotion sent through Text-Em-All goes to people who already get the messages they can't miss from you, not to a marketing number that has only ever sent ads. That relationship is what makes the promotion worth opening, and a marketing-only platform can't hand it to you.

Marketing at any volume

Textedly

Best for growing businesses that want one plan covering every feature.

Key features

  • Unlimited contact storage
  • Scheduled messaging
  • Custom keywords and auto-replies
  • Segmentation
  • Picture and video messaging
  • Every feature on every plan

Pricing

Textedly runs from $29 a month for 500 messages up to $5,520 for 300,000, monthly or annual, with annual billing adding 20% more messages. They advertise no long-term contracts, per their own pricing page in September 2026.

Who it's for

Businesses whose volume is growing and who would rather not compare feature tiers.

Limitations

Their published plans list no voice broadcast, and they carry fewer integrations than SimpleTexting.

Retail promotions

SlickText

Best for retail and restaurant promotions.

Key features

  • Text-to-win contests
  • Birthday automation
  • Rollover credits
  • Segmented audiences
  • QR code generation
  • RCS, at $500 setup and $200 a year

Pricing

SlickText runs from $29 a month for 500 credits up to $939 for 50,000, monthly or yearly, with yearly billing giving two free months. Nonprofits get 20% off, and SlickText passes carrier fees through. Read from their pricing page in September 2026.

Who it's for

Retail, restaurants and any business whose texting is mostly offers.

Limitations

Their published plans list no voice broadcast, and going over a credit limit means moving up a plan because there's no overage rate.

How to make a decision

Find the card that sounds like you

Choose Text-Em-All if

Some of the people you reach won't get a text, and a recorded call has to cover them. You need to know what happened to each person, not an average. Your senders change and you'd rather not buy a seat every time.

Set up a free account

Choose SimpleTexting if

You need automation and drip campaigns, your team lives in Mailchimp or Zapier, you run A/B tests on message copy, and you run surveys and polls by text.

More on SimpleTexting

Choose EZ Texting if

Your texting is marketing-driven, you want keyword and QR-code tools for building a list, you want RCS without a setup fee, and an annual commitment suits your budgeting.

More on EZ Texting

Choose Textedly if

You want every feature included on any plan, your volume is growing and you want headroom, picture and video messaging matter to you, and you'd rather not sign an annual commitment.

More on Textedly

Choose SlickText if

You run frequent promotions, contests and birthday offers are part of your plan, you're a nonprofit and the 20% discount matters, and the RCS setup fee is worth it to you.

More on SlickText

Choose DialMyCalls if

You need recorded calls and email alongside texting, you want support seven days a week, and buying credits when you need them suits how often you send.

More on DialMyCalls

Choose Twilio if

Your team includes engineers, you're building texting into your own product, you need a global footprint, and you want to control every part of the flow.

More on Twilio

Choose Trumpia if

You want text and email automation in the same tool, your campaigns need conditional targeting, and you're comfortable getting pricing by asking.

More on Trumpia

Choose Podium if

Online reviews are a priority, you want website chat to continue by text, you collect payments by text, and your team shares one inbox for customers.

More on Podium
Calls, texts and email

DialMyCalls

Best for organizations sending notifications by more than one channel.

Key features

  • Voice broadcasting
  • Mass texting and two-way texting
  • Bulk email
  • Landline-enabled texting
  • Mobile app
  • Support seven days a week

Pricing

DialMyCalls sells credits, a contact-based plan, or a one-time credit purchase, monthly or annual at 10% off, and adds no carrier fees. Read from their pricing page in September 2026.

Who it's for

Organizations that want calls, texts and email from one account and send often enough to keep credits moving.

Limitations

The closest platform here to Text-Em-All on range, and the honest difference is reporting rather than reach: Text-Em-All sorts every recipient into seven named outcomes and gives the reason on a failure. Their parent company is OnTimeTelecom, Inc.

If you're on DialMyCalls

What are the best alternatives to DialMyCalls?

The main alternatives to DialMyCalls are Text-Em-All, SimpleTexting, EZ Texting, SlickText and Textedly. Decide whether you need voice at all. DialMyCalls and Text-Em-All both send recorded calls; the four marketing platforms don't. If you do need voice, the next question is what your delivery report tells you afterwards.

Source: all nine vendors' published plans, read September 2026. Only Text-Em-All and DialMyCalls list voice broadcasting.

DialMyCalls sends recorded calls too, and its support runs seven days a week. The gap is what you learn afterwards. Most platforms publish one delivery percentage and stop; Text-Em-All sorts every recipient into seven named outcomes, including Delivered, Failed, Opted Out and Replied, and gives the reason on a failure while the send is still running. The emergency text alert page shows that on a send that can't wait.

Developer API

Twilio

Best for developers building messaging into their own product.

Key features

  • Programmable SMS, MMS, RCS and WhatsApp
  • Global reach
  • Scalable infrastructure
  • Extensive documentation
  • Wide integration surface

Pricing

Twilio charges $0.0083 per outbound SMS segment and $0.022 per outbound MMS in the US, priced July 2026 on their own pricing page. Twilio charges carrier fees, phone numbers and inbound messages on top.

Who it's for

Teams with engineers who need messaging inside a product they're building.

Limitations

You build the interface. The free support plan is web only with no guaranteed response time; 24/7 phone and chat is a paid add-on.

Text and email

Trumpia

Best for organizations wanting texting and email automation in one tool.

Key features

  • SMS and email in one platform
  • Targeting and segmentation
  • Automation workflows
  • CRM integration
  • Reporting

Pricing

Trumpia doesn't publish pricing. Their pricing page returned a 404 in September 2026, so ask them directly and get the number in writing before you commit.

Who it's for

Teams that run automated campaigns across text and email together.

Limitations

They publish no pricing, which makes them hard to compare, and their published material lists no voice broadcast.

Reviews and leads

Podium

Best for local businesses turning web visitors into conversations and reviews.

Key features

  • Review generation and management
  • Webchat that continues by text
  • Team inbox
  • Payment collection by text
  • Automated campaigns

Pricing

Podium charges $399 a month for Core and $599 for Pro, with a custom tier above that. Read from their pricing page in September 2026.

Who it's for

Podium suits local businesses like retail stores, auto dealerships, healthcare practices and home services.

Limitations

Podium is the most expensive option here, and mass texting is one feature among many rather than the product.

Before you send

The platform can help with compliance, but it can't take it off you

You're responsible for two sets of rules: the law, and the phone carriers' own.

  • Get consent before you text
  • Honor opt-outs immediately
  • Send during reasonable hours
  • Identify yourself in the message
  • Include opt-out instructions
  • Complete carrier registration before your first text

Every service here offers compliance features. They differ on how much of it you need to remember. Text-Em-All handles consent and opt-outs as part of sending, covers the cost of carrier registration, and won't process a send that breaks the rules.

Before you commit

Five things worth doing before you pick one

  1. Use the free trial, and send a real message to a real list, not to yourself
  2. Ask what onboarding includes, and who does it
  3. Add up the extras: seats, numbers, carrier fees, inbound messages
  4. Check the delivery report, and see whether it tells you about people or about percentages
  5. Ask what happens when a send goes wrong at 7am, and who picks up

We build one of these, and we aren't the right answer for everyone

Text-Em-All fits organizations whose people depend on the message. When a text won't reach somebody, you can also reach them with an automated phone call. If you're running promotional campaigns to a subscriber list you're still building, a marketing platform will fit you better.

We also turn business away. Every platform has to register with the carriers now and every platform has to send clean traffic, so that part isn't a difference any more. What's left is what we choose to carry, and we built this company to deliver the messages that matter.

Common questions

What industries benefit most from mass texting services?

Industries that need to reach a lot of people quickly, and where a missed message costs something.

  • Healthcare: appointment reminders and staff alerts
  • Education: closures and emergencies
  • Religious organizations: service changes and prayer chains
  • Nonprofits: volunteers and donors
  • Staffing: shift fills
  • Waste and recycling: schedule changes
  • Property management: outages and notices
  • Retail and restaurants: offers to customers who opted in
How do mass texting services handle compliance?

The platform gives you the tools; the obligation stays with you. Good practice is the same everywhere: get explicit consent before you send, put an opt-out in every message, act on an opt-out the moment it arrives, keep a record of when and how each person consented, follow the rules that apply where your recipients are, and send messages people actually want. Text-Em-All handles consent and opt-outs as part of sending, and will tell you when a campaign looks like it breaks the rules.

How do I measure the success of a mass texting campaign?

Track four numbers: delivery, meaning the share the carrier accepted; engagement, meaning replies and link clicks; opt-outs, counted per campaign because a monthly average tells you nothing you can act on; and conversion, meaning whoever did the thing you asked for.

Text-Em-All reports delivery per recipient, so a bad number tells you which people it was.

Can I send picture messages with a mass texting service?

Yes. Most services support MMS, which carries images and video alongside text, usually at a higher credit cost than a plain text. Check that cost before you plan a campaign around it: on several platforms an MMS costs three credits.

What is the best texting platform for a small business?

It depends on what you send. If you're sending offers to customers who opted in, SimpleTexting, SlickText and Textedly all start around $29 a month and are built for that. If you're reaching staff, members or residents about things they can't miss, Text-Em-All starts at 9¢ a credit with no per-seat fee, and the same credits send a recorded call to anyone a text won't reach.

Can I send mass texts without a short code?

Yes. Most organizations send from a local 10-digit number. You can't skip carrier registration, which every provider now requires before your first text, and which Text-Em-All covers the cost of and walks you through.

How much does mass texting cost?

Providers price it two ways. Monthly plans across the marketing platforms start around $20 to $29 a month for roughly 500 messages, with more messages at higher tiers and extras billed on top for seats, numbers and carrier fees. Credit pricing charges per message with no monthly minimum: Text-Em-All credits start at 9¢.

On either model, read what sits on top of the headline price. That's usually where the difference is.

Can I schedule mass texts in advance?

Yes, on every service here. They vary on how far ahead you can schedule, whether you can set a recurring send, and whether you can pull a scheduled message back afterwards.

Is SimpleTexting cheaper than Text-Em-All?

For one or two senders on a small list, usually yes. SimpleTexting starts at $29 a month for 500 credits plus $10 for a local number. The comparison changes at four or more senders: SimpleTexting includes three seats and charges $20 a month for each one after that, and Text-Em-All charges no per-seat fee.

Which mass texting service is best for churches and schools?

Text-Em-All, if some of the people you reach won't get a text. Congregations and school families include members without a smartphone, and the same credits that send a text send a recorded call to a landline. Among the major mass texting platforms, only Text-Em-All and DialMyCalls offer automated calling.

Does a mass texting service connect to my staffing or church software?

Some do. Text-Em-All has built integrations with TempWorks, Avionte, AkkenCloud and ABD Ultra-Staff EDGE for staffing, ChurchStaq for religious organizations, ECRS CATAPULT for grocery and retail, and viaSocket for everything else. SimpleTexting and EZ Texting connect through Zapier and their own APIs instead, which covers more tools but means you or somebody else builds the connection.

Is mass texting HIPAA compliant?

It isn't through Text-Em-All. We don't encrypt messages at rest, and standard SMS can't be encrypted in transit, so the platform isn't HIPAA compliant. Healthcare organizations use it for staff and shift communication rather than for anything carrying patient health information. If your use case is patient-facing, ask any vendor here for a signed business associate agreement before you buy, and treat a vague answer as a no.

What does mass texting cost for 1,000 contacts?

It depends on how often you send, not on how many contacts you hold. One Text-Em-All credit sends one text of up to 160 characters to one person, and credits start at 9¢ and get cheaper at higher volumes, so a single message to 1,000 people is a volume question rather than a subscription question. A monthly plan priced on contacts suits an organization messaging the same 1,000 people every week. Current tiers for both are on the pricing page.

Can I move my contacts from SimpleTexting or EZ Texting to Text-Em-All?

Yes, you can. Contacts and opt-out records export as a file from either platform and upload to Text-Em-All, and Text-Em-All filters out the numbers that can't receive texts. Message history and automation flows don't transfer; those get rebuilt. Carrier registration is its own step and it follows the account, not the contacts.
