BECOME A VERIFIED MESSAGE SENDER
10DLC registration, toll-free verification, and SMS compliance
Wireless carriers now require every business sending mass texts to register their brand and campaigns. For local numbers (10DLC) and toll-free numbers, that means completing a one-time verification before your messages can reach recipients reliably. Text-Em-All handles the process for you at no extra cost.

Why is registration now required?
Registration is now required because carriers need a way to distinguish legitimate businesses from spammers. The FCC pushed major carriers — AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile — to build a verification system for A2P (application-to-person) messaging. Without it, bad actors exploited local and toll-free numbers to send mass spam, triggering the filtering rules that now affect every sender.
For years, mass texting ran largely unregulated. Marketers shared five and six-digit short codes, spammers exploited open APIs to send hundreds of millions of texts per day, and carriers had no reliable way to identify who was behind a campaign. Registration changes that. When your brand and campaign are verified through The Campaign Registry (TCR), carriers can trace every message back to a legitimate sender — which means fewer false-positive blocks for you and a cleaner experience for your recipients.
How do I register or verify my text number?
When you create a Text-Em-All account, you're automatically assigned a local or toll-free number. From there, you'll be prompted inside the app to start registration. The process takes a few minutes to complete. Text-Em-All submits your information to the carriers and keeps you updated until your number is fully verified.
A few things you'll need for 10DLC registration:
-
DBA or brand name
-
Business EIN
-
Primary contact
-
Consent details
-
Sample messages
1. Create a free account and we'll automatically assign you a local or toll-free number at no cost.
2. If you plan to send more than 2,000 messages per day, you'll need to register as a high-volume sender.
3. We'll submit your registration information to the carriers and confirm your status. Local number registration typically takes 1-2 business days. Toll-free verification takes longer — often several weeks.
4. Once approved, your verified status improves message deliverability, reduces false-positive blocks, and determines your daily sending limits.
Text-Em-All Tip: You can find all the information you need on your W9 or IRS Tax Letter.
We're making registration easy
No registration fees for customers
Carrier registration comes with one-time fees up to $45 and recurring monthly fees up to $10. Most platforms pass those costs to you. We don't — registration for numbers we assign and numbers you bring to us is included in your Text-Em-All plan.
Keeping registration simple
The registration ecosystem involves multiple organizations, fees, scoring, vetting, and carrier approval. We've built a process that takes a few minutes on your end. Once you submit, our team handles everything else and keeps you updated at every step.
Resolving message blocks
Registered or not, carriers sometimes filter legitimate messages. When a block occurs, your number can't send until it's resolved. Our team resolves 80% of blocked messages — most within 24 hours.
Questions about SMS registration
-
What happens if I don't register my text number?
Unregistered numbers are more likely to have messages filtered or blocked by carriers. AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have all implemented filtering systems that flag unregistered A2P traffic. You may still be able to send messages, but delivery becomes unreliable and blocks are harder to resolve without a verified registration on file.

What is the difference between 10DLC and toll-free verification?
10DLC registration covers local 10-digit phone numbers used for business texting. Toll-free verification covers 1-800 and similar numbers. Both require registration, but the process differs. 10DLC registration is handled through The Campaign Registry and typically completes in 1-2 business days. Toll-free verification is reviewed manually by carriers and often takes several weeks.
-
How long does registration take?
It depends on the number type. 10DLC registration typically takes 1-2 business days once submitted. Toll-free verification is reviewed manually and often takes several weeks. Text-Em-All submits your registration and keeps you updated throughout the process.
-
How much does SMS registration cost with Text-Em-All?
Carrier registration normally involves one-time fees up to $45 and recurring monthly fees up to $10. Text-Em-All covers these fees for numbers we assign to your account and for numbers you bring to our platform. There are no additional registration charges passed to customers.
-
Does registration prevent my messages from being blocked?
Registration reduces the likelihood of blocks but does not eliminate them. Verified numbers are less likely to trigger carrier filters, and registered senders have a faster path to resolution when blocks do occur. Text-Em-All resolves 80% of blocked messages, most within 24 hours.
-
What do I need to complete 10DLC registration?
